My name is Trixie I found roaming the streets and was picked up by a gas kill pound where they held me for 5 days to see if I would be claimed by my family… no one came for me, they were not surprised and the volunteers were very sad. They immediately contacted CAA Rescue and before I knew it I was on transport to my foster mummy’s house. It was quickly discovered (on transport day with a car full of kitties also heading off to another rescue) that I am not good with cats! Fun Times!!
When I got to my foster mummy’s home it was noticed right away that I was missing a patch of fur on my back, my back legs were really week as if they were missing muscle mass and that there was a bump on my inside leg…. It was really easy for my foster mummy to find all this out because I was really good while she checked me all over
At the vet they said the hair loss on my back would grow back that it was probably only from me rubbing up against my cage, they were right as foster mummy says it is growing in.
My mobility has gotten much better, now I can run like the wind but jumping up onto things like the bed is still impossible for me to do and stairs take a little longer for me as I have to go slow. This kind of is not a bad thing because this way I don’t jump on people when greeting them either! Xrays revealed that I have the onset of arthritis in my hips, so now I am on yummy vitamins to help slow down the deterioration.
The bump was removed and we are waiting on pathology to find out what the heck all that was about!
I am a true Airedale … extremely a chatty cathy with lots of talking back if I am not in the mood to do what you want me to do. I am friendly with everyone I meet and live with other doggies in foster care. Due to my size I would probably be better in a home with no children or children over the age of 12 who can be respectful of me and my breed. My foster mummy says I am a super smart girl and just a gem to have around. Foster mummy is great with me though she is calm, cool, consistent, confident and firm but always very fair! I listen very well to her but she says really she does not need to tell me much, I somehow am always right where I am suppose to be doing exactly what I am suppose to be doing
I am clean in the home, absolutely no accidents and no destructive behavior when left alone like my foster mummy says I am a perfect gem!
If you have experience with the Airedale breed and can be patient with me because I am very confused about all the changes in my life right now, if you are a home body, active and have a fully fenced in back yard I think you should write to CAARescue@gmail.com Right NOW and ask them for an application for adoption so that we can meet and maybe we can be best friends forever!
