Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Moxie is a hound mix who is about 55 lbs and 1-2 years old. She has had obedience classes and knows simple commands like sit, shake etc. She is happy and loves everyone. We are not sure about cats yet. She is sweet and gentle but will need regular exercise and someone to help her exercise her smart brain as well. Her foster mom says, “ She really is absolutely lovely. Would be great with an active family. You can tell she really wants to “work” … very alert and interested in sniffing every square inch of space! Gentle and cuddly too… :) Also loves to swim. We had her in the lake and the ocean in one day. She was pretty sleepy that night! Almost immediately upon arrival she plopped herself between our chairs in the living room and hung out by the fire with us”. What a sweet girl she is!
Moxie is housetrained and lets her foster family know when she needs to go out. She is very fond of her foster dad and seems to bond really well with adult males. She is a doll. She was surrendered to an ACO in central Maine and we feel fortunate to have taken her into rescue with us.
Moxie recently was out in the woods and heard a gunshot. It scared her so we don't think she would be a successful hunting companion.
To apply to adopt this dog, please check out our application at www.luckypuprescue.org.
Please note: We do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.
Thank you for considering rescue! Moxie is being fostered in central Maine while she waits for her forever family to find her!
