My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lenny is such a sweet, good-looking boy. He is a five year old dachshund who was saved from a hoarding/backyard breeding situation in the south. He is perfectly happy to toodle about on his own and is not a high maintenance boy. He doesn’t have a lot of experience being gentle with humans so is learning he doesn’t have to be defensive over his body space. Small children would not be a good match for Lenny because it’s very important to let him do the approaching.

Lenny has not had any accidents in his foster home, and goes right into his crate when asked; he stays in there without a fuss. He is a playful but quiet guy, very respectful of the other dogs (he is fostered with other small dogs right now). Lenny eats well and has the most adorable under bite – his bottom jaw is much smaller than his top one which adds to his charm.

He loves toys and acts a bit like a terrier giving the “death shake” to his squeakies. He is a bit of a toy hoarder and would love to have a stash of his own! He is a smart cookie – with one of his furry foster sisters, he will pretend he wants to play with her and then when she moves he will steal her toy out from under her.

We’d love to introduce you to Lenny!

To apply to adopt this dog, please check out our application at www.luckypuprescue.org.

Please note: We do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.

Thank you for considering rescue!
