My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there. My name is Ginger. I am about 3 years old and I weigh about 20 lbs.
I was brought in to the pound by a lady who claimed to have just found me as a stray but that she was moving in two days so she couldn't keep me. The pound kind of thinks I might have been her dog because I was very attached to her. I cried and scratched on the door in a distressed manner as I watched her get in the car to leave. I didn't want to let any of the pound workers touch me or to get near me. I was terrified and I had no clue why I was being dropped off here.
After a few days of coaxing me with affection and treats, the workers here at the pound were finally able to get me to warm up. I am coming around more and more every day. Now I will wag my stubby little tail when someone walks by me instead of cowering and growling out of fear.
I seem to get along well with the other dogs I have met here at the pound so far.
I have very dry, itchy and scabby skin, likely due to a flea/ food allergy. It does not seem to be mange or any type of a chronic issue. It is likely just something that has gotten ignored rather than treated. This should clear up in no time on a good food and having flea treatments.
If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me!

I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER SEPTEMBER 1, 2014.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.

MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY SPAY SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.

THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
