Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Thunder. Thunder’s previous human was elderly and no longer able to care for him, so surrendered him to the Montgomery County, PA SPCA. His age is listed as 9-almost-10 and they were not confident that they would find an adopter for him because of his age. Lucky for him they reached out to BREW to see if we could help.
In his foster home for a week now, he seems younger than 9 or 10, maybe in the 6-8 range, although it is possible that he is just in terrific shape because, unlike many beagles, he is not overweight. He was clearly loved and well-cared for, too.
Although there has been a few “marking” incidents (not abnormal in a new place, especially with other dogs), Thunder is clearly house-trained. He knows “sit” and “down”. He does not like to be crated when people are home, and at night he likes to sleep with a person and will try to burrow under the blankets with a person. If told “no”, he just waits until one is asleep then joins them, but he is not a bed- or blanket-hog.
So far Thunder has gotten along with dogs of all sexes and sizes, but his focus (and joy) is cuddling with a person, whether on the couch, in a comfy chair or in bed. If not permitted to join a person on the couch, etc., he will find a comfy spot on the floor and settle.
