My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is GeeGee and I’m a 1 year old, 40 lb., black female Lab mix. I’m definitely not your typical Lab. I don’t have the otter tail, the floppy ears, or two coats, but I do have all of the Lab temperament you could possibly stand. My tail never stops wagging! If you don’t believe – just check out my video. You’ll also see in my video that I adore my human – my children! My foster mom prefers I live with a family with very young children as I am super duper soft and super duper safe with the kids. How am I with doggy friends you ask? Well I love my doggy friends. I live today with several dogs including a very grumpy alpha Lab. I know it’s my place to keep the peace which has actually worked to my advantage. He now wags his tail when I come around and wants to play too! Despite my youth, I am a perfectly behaved dog in the house. I am potty trained and crate trained. I am a low to medium energy Lab that prefers to just drop by your feet any chance I can. Like all my Lab friends that visit here at SCLRR, I too have a story. You see, I was evicted by my previous owners and subjected to the neighborhood streets as a stray dog. I didn’t understand why my family no longer wanted me. So…I just stayed around my home hoping they would take me back. The neighbors noticed my mistreatment, took a stand on my behalf and called for help. That’s when ‘Hope for Paws’ – an angel rescue group for stray dogs – rescued little ‘ole me! Thanks to HFP, I was saved from the uncertainty of the streets. HFP then called the friends at SCLRR who made sure there was a foster home with my name on it. Now I sleep safely, comfortably, and with lots of love around me. I am timid when first meeting strangers, however once I know you will not harm me, I am your biggest fan. I never want to be subjected to the cold or the unknown again. Knowing you will keep me exclusively as an indoor dog, is what my foster mom wants for me. Foster mom says I will be seen by my furever family, and they will come for me. Is it possible you are the family for me? If so, please contact your family rep so we can meet!
