My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update:
He is very slowly coming out of his shell. He will now come to me (occasionally) when I call the others and will let me pet him very gingerly. He eats like a horse (I got some expensive puppy food for him so he can gain some weight). He is gaining weight now.

He and Sacha, his foster friend, play more and more but he still runs to his crate when he gets scared and won’t come inside until I move away from the door. He's coming out of his shell more everyday!

He gets spooked by other dogs that are in his face and will back himself into a corner and growl, bare his teeth and try to bite if an unknown dog comes close. We are getting him some needed socialization. He will continue to need that after adoption, play dates and outings are great for shy dogs.

The best home for him will be one where someone is willing to put in a lot of time with walking, training (obedience and self confidence building), and lots of exercise. I limit his walks to 30 minutes as he is still young. But he is perfect on a leash and enjoys the exercise. He is totally crate trained but a puppy should not be left more than 4 or 5 hours. He needs someone to commit to spending time with him every day. He is a high drive dog not a couch potato. He would enjoy another dog to play with but patience is key with timid dogs.
End Update

Meet our new little guy Hefner. What a sweet adorable boy he is! He was a stray, so we don't know much about his past. He is very shy at first but is coming along nicely and loves attention and affection. He is even starting to give a few kisses.

Name: Hefner

We are getting him used to walking on a leash which seemed completely foreign to him before. He likes other dogs, but is very cautious of them, which probably came from being a stray. This poor baby is very thin, but when he fills out will be a gorgeous boy. We will update as we learn more.
