My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tipper is an 11 week old male puppy. His mom (Alia) came from a puppy mill and he was born after she escaped. Tippery is a terrier mix but we don't know who his father was. His mother was a Schnauzer. His paws are all tipped in white so that's how he got his name. He is not house trained or neutered but he is working on house training and leash training in his foster home. A neuter deposit will be required. He has had 2 of the 3 required distemper shots and he has been de-wormed. He will also need a rabies and bordetella at 12 weeks. Tippy's owner must be willing to take him through a basic puppy class and provide proof of completion within four months of the adoption. Proof of enrollment in a dog obedience is required before/at the adoption. If you would like to be considered to adopt Tippy, you must first apply. Then please contact puppypatrol@schnauzerrescue.net. If you've already applied, please contact puppypatrol@schnauzerrescue.net to be added to the list of those being considered. To apply on-line, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on the on-line application. Rescue Schnauzers usually weigh between 15-25 pounds, they are up to date on shots, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered prior to placement. We make reasonable efforts to evaluate the health and temperament of each dog, however we cannot make any guarantees. We are not a shelter and do not have a central facility. All dogs are kept in foster homes located throughout the area we cover. PLEASE NOTE: We rescue schnauzers in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC and southern Pennsylvania. We can only accept applications within a reasonable driving distance of our areas of coverage. Please read the list at the top of the on-line application to see if you are in our area. For a rescue contact in other areas, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on Rescue Links. We have a need for volunteers in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Our website also features lots of great information about the rescue process, book reviews and training tips - plus the best schnauzer items for purchase! All proceeds benefit schnauzers in need. Thanks for your support!
