Ficus's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Ficus's Story...
This sweet little maltese mix was in deplorable condition when found and had to be shaved down and given medicated baths for his red and itchy skin. His coat is growing back beautifully now and although he still has some pink to his skin he has nearly healed, but will still need some medicated weekly baths. He is approx 2-3 yrs old and 12 lbs and just a doll He is well behaved, seems to be quite well house trained but not perfect, he loves to hang out in a doggie bed with his buddies and is the ultimate lap dog, if you sit down he is right there wanting attention. Once his coat grows back fully he is going to be just stunning, One of his eyes is smaller than the other, the vet has no idea why, there is nothing wrong with his eyes its just the way it is. it gives him character..

The total adoption cost of $425 includes the required interstate health certificate and transport ($225), spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a pre paid registration($200). The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. All our dogs are in foster care, there is no physical shelter. Some have not yet arrived in PA.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ficus, a Allentown Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Allentown, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Allentown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Allentown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Allentown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Allentown paves the way for another one to be saved.
