Captain's Story...
Captain is an 8 year-old, red & white gentleman who found himself in the pound. He has completed treatment for heartworm and is now looking for his forever family. Captain is an easy, low-maintenance hound with amazing basset wrinkles all in the right places. His favorite things to do are eat, sleep, receive pets, sleep some more, eat some more, repeat. He is good around other dogs and would be fine around kids as well. As a seasoned gentleman, he is well past the puppy antics and just wants a warm place to hang his head at night. Captain loves human affection, going for walks, and occasionally participates in the basset 500. Please consider giving this gorgeous guy his forever home. You won't regret it!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Captain, a Marietta Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
