Meet Scout! Scout is a gorgeous 5 year old spayed female black pit bull mix with a white belly. She is a small little pocket pittie at just under 45 pounds, and she loves cuddling up to her people! And look at those ears - who can resist those ears?!

She knows sit, shake, wait, down and high-five. She is quite intelligent and communicates well! Scout is crate-trained and housebroken. Her favorite game is tug, which she is VERY good at. She loves to run and loves to sprint in open spaces.

Scout prefers to be the center of attention and needs to be the only dog in the house and without young children. She is fostered in Columbus, Oh. If you would like to snuggle up with Scout, please email us for an adoption application:

MAWL's dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm-lyme-ehrlichia tested if old enough and up to date on vaccines prior to going to their new homes. We select our adopters through an application process. We require vet and personal references as well as a home visit. We prefer to adopt our pets to Ohio residents. An adoption donation of $175 helps to cover the costs involved.

About Mid-Ohio Animal Welfare League

About Our Rescue Group...

Created in 2005, we are a non-profit volunteer-operated animal advocacy organization originally based in Mansfield, OH. Our director lives in the Cleveland-area. When able, we foster companions in our home. We believe all animals should be treated with compassion & respect. We advocate a vegan lifestyle.

Our mission is to protect and promote value and respect for all animals. We act as a voice for the voiceless creatures through advocacy and community education. Our main purpose is to provide affordable spay/neuter services to our community with the assistance of Rascal Unit neutermobile.

When able, we accept animals into our foster home-based rescue. Animals that enter our rescue are kept for as long as it takes to find forever homes - which can be a matter of a week to many months. We primarily pull from high-kill pounds/shelters. MAWL is an advocate of feral and stray cats and offers TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) services to Richland County as able.

As a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization, your donations are tax-deductible. We operate solely on donations, so please consider supporting our efforts.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have a shelter. In order to meet any of our adoptable cats & dogs, we must have a completed adoption application before a "Meet & Greet" can be arranged. On occasion, we hold adoption events. It is best to view our Facebook page or contact us directly to see if any events are scheduled.

Please note in the biography where the foster is located. It is the responsibility of the potential adopter to travel to meet the companion - we unfortunately do not have the funds to travel outside of our hometowns for meet & greets.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an adoption application before we can consider a family for adoption. Our cat adoption fee is $75, which helps offset the vet care - sterilization, vaccines, deworming, FIV/Leukemia-testing & microchip. Our dog adoption fee is $175 and covers the sterilization, vaccines, deworming heartworm test (if age appropriate), and microchip.

A home visit and references will be performed. We are volunteers, so it could take 24 hours to return any email inquiry.
