My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a 2-month-old female purebred Rottweiler puppy. I weigh about 10 pounds right now, but I’m definitely going to gain a ton more. I'll most likely break the 70 pound mark! The story I am about to tell you is very sad. Be prepared to shed a tear. I was brought into a local high-kill shelter as a stray – supposedly. The staff at the shelter noticed immediately that I had a pretty nasty wound on my back. After further inspection it appeared to be a chemical burn. And that’s not all, in addition to the burn, I also had maggots feasting on my necrotic tissue. Pretty awful right?! I was a mess! I was in so much pain and I had completely lost all hope. I really couldn’t see a future for me. Thankfully though, the shelter staff cleaned my wound and treated me with ointment and some pain meds. After a few days, I began to feel better and the shelter staff felt that I was well enough to be put up for adoption. I stayed in the medical ward for about 4 days while I waited for my rescuer. To my surprise, CageFree saved me. I couldn’t have been happier! I’m currently in isolation, but I will soon be allowed to go on the playground with all the other dogs. I can’t wait! I’m going to have so much fun running around and playing. As far as my wound is concerned, it has begun to heal, but I will always have scars. You can’t suffer from something so terrible and not have battle wounds. However, if you meet me, you’ll realize that my scars are purely physical. I haven’t let any of my past bring me down. I’m still a silly, playful, lovable puppy! And, even with my scars, I’m just as adorable as you’d expect a puppy my age to be! Since I am so young, I am looking for an active family. I think that I would really enjoy playing with tennis balls, maybe wrestling with a rope, or visiting my friends at the dog park. Now that you know more about me, do you think I would make a good companion for you? If so, can you adopt me, please? If you’d like to meet me, please don’t hesitate to contact CageFree and schedule an appointment. I'll be waiting!
