My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Lilo! I am a 50 lb sweet lab mix, and a I’m a real lady. I was found on the side of a busy road with my daughter, her name is Stitch, and she is looking for a forever home too. We were covered in fleas and ticks with our ribs showing because we were so hungry! Even in that condition, I was immediately friendly and grateful to the ladies who stopped to give us food and take us off the street. They put us in a car and brought us to a nice place that wasn’t so hot and it had more food!! We got baths and tick removal right away, and we made sure to stand really still and give them kisses the whole time they were washing us. The first few nights we slept in a crate at night and played in the sunroom during the days. I like that crate because it makes me feel safe. We both do really well in the crate and even cooperate on those pesky leashes they like to put us on. I love to roll in the grass and have my belly rubbed anytime of the day. I’ll walk right next to you just in case you feel like leaning down and giving me a pet! I love my foster family and make sure that I don’t make any messes in the house. I always wait until they take me outside to potty. At this new place they have two other dogs and this furry little thing that makes a weird meowing noise. At first I was skeptical of all these new critters, but now we’re buddies, we play outside, and I even let the meowing fur ball rub against me and bat at my head! I get a little nervous around new people and animals because for a while it was just me and Stitch. I go lay down and watch everything that’s happening when I’m unsure of what I should do or who might hurt me. People on the street aren’t always nice to us dogs. I haven’t met any of those little humans yet, but so far I’ve been friendly with everyone I’ve met as long as they don’t surprise or startle me. I’m a healthy, heartworm free, happy and now a spayed girl looking for a permanent home! Stitch and I would love to find a great home where we can stay together, but I think we would be ok on our own too.

With Kisses and Wiggles,
Lilo
