Hello! My name is Benny and I am a young Severe Macaw. My foster Mom says I am very acrobatic, I love to hang upside down and to walk around the house looking for you. It does take me a while to warm up to new people, but once I do, then I want to be with you all the time! I do eat very healthy now including pellets, fresh vegetables, fruits, and healthy nuts. I do like seed and my foster Mommy is having a hard time getting me to give that last little bit up – but she is such a sucker for me so this may take a while. I am still getting used to taking showers, I am not so sure about that part – I guess it feels good, I just need a little more time with it. I do also love watermelon and almonds in the shell! I strongly prefer women and I do not care for children. I love going outside on a screened in porch where my foster mom supervises me so I can get sunlight – this makes my feathers real pretty. I do also like hanging out on the top of my cage as well and sometimes I will whistle for you, but I am generally pretty quiet. I really hope that you will come and meet me soon – just don’t be offended if I am a little stand-offish at first, give me time and I will come around!

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
