My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It always tug at our hearts at Farfel's when we see the young puppies that are already in desperate situations. Such was the case when Kenzie's adorable face popped up on our computer screen as "Urgent". How could it possibly be that this gorgeous Standard Schnauzer/Lab mix (the shelter's opinion was Schnauzer/Lab mix but a Texas vet's opinion was Labradoodle...we can see it both ways) was about to be euthanized? We sprang into action and were successful in rescuing Kenzie. Kenzie is a truly beautiful puppy who fortunately is too young to be affected by her time at the shelter. Since she is only 11 weeks old, she's a tiny girl weighing about 5 lbs, but will be true to her breeds and most likely weigh approximately 30 - 40 lbs when full grown. Kenzie is starting off with a naturally loving and curious temperament. if treated with love and respect while having clear boundaries, she will develop into a well-balanced and very devoted companion. The reality of adopting a puppy is that they're a blank slate...they will develop into the adult dogs we teach them to be. If we housebreak and begin general training with a serious sense of commitment.... yet with an understanding that our pup ends up as loving as they are treated...we will end up with a well-balanced and devoted companion. We strongly suggest Puppy Socialization classes (offered by most trainers) to introduce Kenzie to other pups and to begin her understanding of what appropriate behavior is toward other dogs. It also teaches the beginning skills of sitting, lying down and recall. We are open to placing Kenzie in a home with older Amber is being fostered in Denver. If interested in this sweet puppy who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.children or with an active retired couple (or individual). We would love a family that has the time and motivation to guide a puppy...and snuggle and love her as well. This requires lots of togetherness and clear messages as to what's expected. We also feel strongly that a puppy needs to be kept stimulated with frequent walks, playtime and socialization with as many humans and other dogs as possible. It is through this positive interaction that Kenzie will develop into a dog that is trustworthy around other dogs as well as children. She's so sweet and loves everyone she's ever met...Kenzie's a natural for a devoted family companion. She would be overjoyed running and playing in the Colorado mountains followed by some serious couch time with belly rubs being mandatory.
Kenzie has the most beautiful white coat with touches of fawn. It's cotton-soft and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep it healthy and matt-free.
Kenzie was considered to be too young to spay in Texas. Farfel's will be happy to take responsibility for payment for Kenzie's spaying, any additional necessary shots and microchip as soon as she's old enough for the procedures.

Kenzie will be arriving on transport in Denver on 9/12. If interested in this sweet pup who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
