My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Haddie Marie is a very special puppy that we rescued from a high kill shelter, only after the breeder sold her 6 times and then finally turned her in. She kept being returned to the breeder because she couldn't hold her food down. She has a condition called megaesophagus. Haddie came to us only weighing 11 lbs at almost 6 months of age!! She was completely emaciated. She slowly gained weight, and started enjoying what all puppies like to do- play! Haddie was a well socialized puppy from the start. We decided to take Haddie to Cornell University, because they had much experience with Haddie's condition. Haddie was gaining weight, and eating like a champion! We were proud! Once we got to Cornell, they did an endoscopy. We found out that Haddie was not a canidite for surgery. The band leading to her stomach was small, but was allowing food to reach her stomach. They were impressed with her weight, and said surgery would not do much for her- that she would be a normal pup! We feed her twice a day, but still needs pureed canned food.

Haddie loves other dogs, playing outside, and is great in off leash areas. She is house trained. Haddie has lots of energy- she would make a great walking, jogging or trail partner! She runs everyday 4.5 miles with her foster mom. Haddie also loves to swim! No couch potatoes please!

HADDIE'S ADOPTION FEE HAS BEEN SPONSORED BY THE ROGAN FAMILY- THAT MEANS SHE IS FREE TO AN APPROVED HOME!!!
