My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there. My name is Hamlet. I am about 2 years old and I weigh about 45 lbs. I should weigh at least 70 lbs. for my size. I currently have a body score of 1 on a scale of 1-9.
I came in to the shelter in horrible condition. I am clearly emaciated. I had a feces matted and clumped all over my tail, hind end and belly. It took the shelter over an hour to get me bathed and get all of the dried fecal matter off of me. I was SUCH a good boy. The water frightened me at first but I stood there and let the girl scrub me, pull and tug on all of the poop mats that were clumped on to me.
I am starving for both attention and food! I absolutely LOVE people! I am very kind, gentle and loving. All I want is love. I am very affectionate. I am frightened sometimes and it makes me pee myself, but this should subside once I get to know you and I know you're not going to hurt me.
I get along great with the other dogs here at the pound too.
The pound does not test for food aggression so they do not know if I would fight over my food, but the pound would suggest that I be fed away from other dogs and small children just in case.
It will take me some time to adjust to living inside and learning all about being a beloved family member, so please be sure you have the time and patience for me before you decide to adopt me.

I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER SEPTEMBER 12, 2014.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.

MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY NEUTER SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.

THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
