Francis's Story...
My name is Francis and I am 4 year old Golden Retriever. I was found walking down a busy road and was taken to a shelter. My family did not come looking for me so AGK said they could help me find a forever home. Good timing too because I am a hot mess. I am missing a lot of my fur on my back (the doctor thinks I have a thyroid issue), my side, tummy and tail is covered in mats, I am very overweight and I have a wicked ear infection. So I really don't look very good and I don't feel all that great either - I guess my family was not taking good care of me. So, I am on medication to clear up my skin and ear infection, waiting to hear about my thyroid. I am good with other dogs, very gentle girl and I LOVE human attention. I am just your typical Golden Girlie. Love, Francis.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Francis, a Knoxville Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
