Finch is a 3.5 year old Cattle Dog/Hound mix. He is a wonderful, bright, young dog who is eager to please. He is extremely smart. He loves playing ball and training for treats. He knows sit, down, stay, and come. He also walks great on a leash, and loves going on walks. He definitely has the potential to be an off leash dog.
At the boarding facility where Finch is currently living, he knows the daily routine, and is eager for almost every part of the day (playtime, mealtime, walks, and even quiet time). He does have a lot of energy and would love a job to do or an active family. He has bonded with many of the staff members at the boarding facility, and will come to them for affection during one on one times.
Finch needs plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, but he also needs somebody who will give him the space he needs in the home. He is the type of dog who loves to be engaged and connect with people on a mental level. Given a good routine and a person who understands him, Finch would make a wonderful companion. Please give Finch a loving home!

About Tall Tails Beagle Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Tall Tails Beagle Rescue is a 501c3 non profit that works to find homes for unwanted Beagles, Beagle mixes, and occasionally deserving pups of other breeds that are in need of rescuing (we call them "honorary Beagles!").

The rescue was founded by Chris Abbe in 2005. Chris began rescuing beagles back in 2000 with Nittany Beagle Rescue in Lemont, Pennsylvania following the tragic loss of his own beloved beagle. After years of working with other rescue groups, he relocated to southern Maine in 2005 and founded Tall Tails Beagle Rescue.

Beagles are a member of the scent hound group. They vary between 13 and 15 inches at the shoulder and usually weigh between 20 and 30 pounds. They possess a short coat and are easily groomed. Beagles often live to 15 years.

Our rescue dogs have all been examined by a veterinarian, brought up to date on their shots, spayed or neutered and have had their temperament checked.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our rescue shares space with a boarding kennel. Most of our dogs are in the kennel and some are in foster homes. If you would like to meet one of our dogs, please call and make an appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

Anyone interested in adopting one of our pups must fill out an Adoption Application. We require personal & veterinary references. Once approved the adopter must sign an Adoption Contract. One of the stipulations in the contract is that the Beagle will be kept as a house pet and must be returned to Tall Tails Beagle Rescue if the adopter can no longer keep the Beagle. Our adoption fee is $200.
