Sam's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Sam's Story...
Sam is a 5-year-old golden mix. He is a sweet boy who loves people of all ages and sizes! Sam gets along great with other dogs as well as cats. Sam is looking for a family who loves to play with their dogs. He knows how to fetch and will jump sky high to grab a toy. Once Sam gets the toy, he enjoys ripping it to shreds! The good thing is he seems to know the difference between dog toys and kid toys but if he forgets, a quick "No!" along with directing him to what he can play with will let him know. Other tricks Sam knows include, sit and down. He can also catch a treat and is very treat motivated and really wants to please his people!

On Sam's first night with us, it was pouring rain outside. We let him go out to the backyard to take care of business and watched him walk right over to our son's kid-sized pool, climb in, and lay down in the water - in the pouring rain! Sam is definitely a water loving boy.

Sam loves going places! He's a great car rider and will sit by the car just waiting to go someplace. This boy also loves his walks! We've been using a Gentle Leader with him, which prevents him from pulling too hard. Sam is house-trained and is fine with free roam. He sleeps through the night on a dog bed in our room.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Denver Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever for sale in Denver, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
