Jasper's Story...
Jasper is a German Shepard/Heeler mix about a year old and a very high energy boy who would love a family who will keep him busy with lots of exercise and mental stimulation to keep him from being bored. Jasper is reported to be house trained, leash trained and kennel trained. Jasper has lived with young children with no issues, and the good ole' boy even gets along with cats. He doesn't seem to have issues with other dogs, and would rather play more then just about anything else. He knows some basic commands, sit and down, walks on leash (better after he's played a bit and settled down) and takes treats very gently. Jasper maybe a good fit for most setting due to his smaller size if he get's plenty of exercise and perhaps a job or two, he makes good eye contact and should be willing and able to pick up any tricks you want to teach him. He is neutered and ready to go, if interested stop by and meet Jasper during regular rescue hours 11am till 4 pm 7 days a week.

If you want to apply for Jasper click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Valley Humane Society. Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jasper, a Meridian German Shepherd Dog/Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Cattle Dog for sale in Meridian, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Cattle Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
