Why hello there! Thanks so much for clicking on my photo! Please let me take a few moments to introduce myself!
My name is Sophia and I am a 9 year old female Shih Tzu who is looking for my fur-ever home. I came to the wonderful people at NBS Animal Rescue when my owner had a few too many dogs and couldn't care for us properly. My friends at the Devoted Barn helped get me and my sisters in touch with the great people of NBS Animal Rescue and now we're all loving life! We were all named after the Golden Girls sitcom - check out our Facebook page video for some great before and after photos of us!
I am a sweet spunky lady who is loving my new life! Don't let that number above scare you away from thinking of adopting me - if you know anything about Sophia from the Golden Girls sitcom you know that us Senior gals can really get down and kick up our heels! I love being around my people, exploring my fenced yard, snuggling, checking out toys, going for walks, and treats...I LOVE treats! My previous owner didn't take very good care of me and unfortunately my eye became severely infected and painful. The nice doggy doctors at NBS Animal Rescue removed it for me and now I'm as good as new! I wasn't able to see out of my eye for a long time, so not having it anymore doesn't bother me a bit and I'm much more comfortable now! I get along well with other dogs, and although I've never met a cat before, I think I would be OK with a feline room mate. I'm doing excellent with potty training, and my foster mom says that when I get excited I hop up with my front feet just a few inches off the ground and wag my tail so hard my whole bottom shakes!
I am spayed, up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and ready to find my fur-ever family who will love me forever! Could it be with you?
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.
