Xerxes's Story...
Hello everybody! My name is Xerxes and I am looking for my forever home. Though I am named after the great Persian conquerer King Xerxes I, I am mostly just a little goofball. I think I look quite regal though! I love to wrestle with my litter mates and chase just about anything that moves (including wiggly toes under blankets, you have been warned!). I love to play but when it's time for bed I love cuddling just as much. I would probably do best being adopted with another kitten or joining a house where there are cats already because I am very social with both people and other animals. Email FOR today, I would love to meet you! I'm fostered in Madison, AL and you can meet me by emailing info@FORrescue.net. By the way, check out my baby picture!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Xerxes, a Homewood Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
