Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Carson is a young yorkie boy rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri where he spent 2 years living in a cage in a shed. He was born on Feb 12, 2012. He is a nice boy but because of his neglect at the mill, he is timid around people and will run from people he doesn't know. He requires a fenced in yard since he is too timid to walk on a leash and another small breed dog as a companion to help him learn and feel safe. He will do best in a calm environment with no young children and someone with the patients to help him continue in his adjustment to life outside of the puppy mill.
We will not consider homes without a fenced in yard or without another small dog for Carson. This is not a requirement for all of our rescues, but it is for most of our puppy mill rescues.
If you are interested in meeting this dog, please fill out our adoption application which you can find on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html
All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped.
We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Our adoption fee is on our application. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs.
We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.
