My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

QUICK UPDATE - 20 OCTOBER 2014: Michelle recently got back from a one-week "vacation" in another BREW foster home, where she had a blast playing with Charlie! She also enjoyed meeting lots of people and other dogs at Beaglefest. Back at her foster home, she continues to be playful, wishing the somewhat grumpy dogs (and even the cats) would play with her more, but she loves a good nap - sometimes perched on the back of the couch like a cat - or snuggle in a lap.
28 SEPTEMBER 2014: Michelle is having a great time in her foster home! This weekend she participated in a 5K dog walk and loved it, sniffing at least 90% of the route, and she was excellent with all the dogs she met, many of which were much larger than her. She hasn’t had any accidents in the week she’s been here, and is still fairly quiet. Michelle does bark and whine some when she’s ready to get out of her crate, and she will howl some at critters in the yard and on walks. She’s proven trust-worthy when left out unattended for short periods of time, although she did make a nest on the people bed once. We’ve also found something she likes better than snuggling on the couch – snuggling on the couch between two people! Michelle is a good mix of energy levels – she’s always up for a walk and has occasional bursts of energy – often to play with toys, but she seems to always be up for a good nap on the couch, too!
22 SEPTEMBER 2014: Michelle has been in her foster home for just over a day, but she is already very comfortable and a joy to have around. She is absolutely adorable and very snuggly. Michelle is about average height for a beagle but has very delicate features and weighs about 20 pounds soaking wet. She has gotten along nicely with our three dogs (15-65 pounds) and has mostly ignored the cats. Thus far, her favorite things are to nap on the couch (preferably with a human) and explore the yard. She also seems to enjoy walks but could use a little practice on the leash. She had not had any accidents and will potty both in the yard and on a leash. She slept soundly through the night in her crate in our bedroom, and I have yet to hear her bark. Michelle is a great catch!

Michelle is a small, two-year-old female beagle who will be available for adoption after her vetting is completed. She is friendly and quiet and gets along great with other dogs. She was a stray at the Madison County Animal Shelter, so her history is unknown. Stay tuned as we get to know Michelle better!
