My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IDGSR WELCOMES CHEROKEE INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!!!!

Cherokee is a sable female German Shepherd, she is very sweet, gives hugs and kisses freely, she loves to snuggle with you on the couch, lay her head in your lap, be near and dear to you. This precious child just wants to know she has a forever home.

Her story is an odd one, given away at a biker festival of some sort and the person that 'won' her decided they didn't want her and after 3 days surrendered her to a shelter.

Cherokee is a lovely girl, she will benefit from standard obedience work, she is approx. 4 yrs. old, and about 20lbs. underweight, she should be in the 90lb. range when filled out.

She is a Large female and gets along fine with other dogs. Initial cat test showed cat tolerance but further testing is needed.

If you would like to make Cherokee a member of your family, please copy and paste the link below to fill out our online application.
