My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there. My name is Lulu. I am almost 1 1/2 years old and I weigh about 45 lbs.
I was surrendered to the pound by my owner in September 2014 and I am still here at the pound looking for a good home with a loving family to join.
When I first got here, I was terrified of everything!! I was terrified of any type of movement, loud sounds, other dogs and I was even terrified of people.
After a lot of work and the most socialization one can possibly get at the dog pound, I am happy to report that I am turning in to a social butterfly.
I am still shy at first with new people, but with a few kind, soft spoken works and gentle touch, I really warm up fast.
I am becoming a lot more comfortable with being inside now ( I was kept in a kennel outside at my old house and was never allowed inside). I was really scared and uneasy when I came into the office when I first got here, but now I quite like it. I like to come in the office, play with the toys and lounge around on the nice, cozy doggy beds in here.
I really try hard to not have accidents while I am inside. I don't yet understand the concept of house training but I am used to going potty outside because that's where I lived before, so it does make potty training slightly easier.
I am a pretty calm girl for being a coonhound. I am very good when I am inside. I like to just hang out and be around my people.
True to my coonhound heritage, I do, however, find it amusing to sometimes mouth or chew things I shouldn't, but as long as you keep an eye on me I really am a good, quiet girl.
I do like and get along well with most of the other dogs. I get fearful when new dogs won't leave me alone, jump on me or continually taunt me.
Large dogs tend to frighten me more than dogs that are smaller than me do.
Once I know the other dog and I know they are not going to hurt me, I am fine with them.
If you're looking for a sweet and loving coonhound to add to your family, please consider adopting me.

I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.
