My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Misty is 12 months old (DOB March 2014) and is a female Border Collie mix. We are not sure what she is mixed with, but it appears to be shepherd. The owner owned the mom, and she was a BC. Misty was surrendered with her sibling, Sweet Pea, to a shelter in Parker, AZ. She thought Dad was an Aussie, but we doubt it. She came out of the shelter system from Parker, AZ. Arrangements were made to pick her up in Yuma, AZ, as her time was up in the shelter.

When she first came into rescue, she was not well socialized with people, as she was dependent on her sibling and other dogs. Since being in foster care, she has learned to walk on a leash and now has some manners. She does know her basic obedience commands of sit and stay, and has good recall. She is also housebroken.

Misty is well socialized and loves to play with other dogs and gets along with everyone, dogs and humans. She has not been tested on cats, but the belief is that she would rather play with them than harm them. She spends a lot of time playing with her foster siblings and they and just love her! Misty is a water baby, as gets into the kiddie pool to cool off after playing with the other dogs. She will chase a ball, but needs to learn what to do with it after she gets it. You can often see her running around with a toy and trying to get the rest of the pack to chase her. She is pretty good about entertaining herself.

Misty has medium energy, and is not destructive. She is a smart dog and can get bored, but channeling with proper chew toys should do the trick. Misty is doing well inside the house and she has not had any potty accidents in the last couple of months. She also loves her inside time with her foster family just hanging out. She would make an excellent family dog and would love to be your BFF.
