Kaplan's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Kaplan's Story...
Kaplan is scared. Of you, of me, of the door and the TV. His new owner will need to understand that he will require 3-5 days to get used to his new accommodations before you start to see his personality blossom. He wasn't treated very well by people for the first 6 months of his life. He is wary of new people but he LOVES dogs! Big and small, male and female - he loves dogs and he loves to play. He can run like the wind.

He shows zero signs of aggression and like most dogs - the key to his heart is through food. A treat here and another treat there - he will warm up quickly. He needs to go to a come that has a fence. Did we mention he can run like the wind? He is house trained, loves his kennel but DOES NOT need to be locked in it, likes peanut butter in is kong ball and stuffed animals. He walks well on a leash but best with harness and more than anything like to lay in the sun and snooze. If you work from home and are looking for someone to warm your feet Kaplan is your guy.

He is neutered and UTD on vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kaplan, a Columbia Heights Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Columbia Heights, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Columbia Heights.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia Heights already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia Heights breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia Heights paves the way for another one to be saved.
