Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Avalanche, a one year old Great Pyrenees, came to visit a friend, along with his original family, who just left him tied to the porch when they left. The woman tried to take care of him but it was just too much so she surrendered him to a rescue. As a result of his neglect he does suffer a little when not with his people so we would like to have people in and out of the home throughout the day to bring his confidence up and give him the love and attention he so deserves.
Avalanche just LOVES attention, belly rubs and lots of loving. He is such a gentle giant and will show you how much he loves you with his tongue and wet licks. He does well with children however because of his size he would do best with older children. He gets along with other dogs and is curious of cats but not aggressive towards them. He is doing well with house training and is almost perfect. He still needs work with the leash but is smart and eager to please so should be easy to train.
Avalanche would do best with a fenced yard, daily walks and lots of outdoor activities. Older kids would just make life perfect.
