Coco's Story...
Say hi to Coco. She's an amazingly adorable, super sweet Bichon-Shih Tzu mix who has faced challenges in her 6 years, but still has tons of energy and lots of love to give. She lost an eye a few years ago from an injury and now has suffered a back injury that has weakened her back legs. Coco came to us when her family was no longer able to provide the care she needed. Despite all her challenges Coco has remained a happy little girl whose tail is always wagging and who is always ready give kisses in appreciation of a hug or belly rub. Coco also loves to cuddle up on a nice warm lap and at just 13 lbs. is the perfect lap warmer. She just wants to be around people who love her. Coco gets along with all other animals and can scoot around after her doggy foster brother. Pet Rescue of Mercer is providing specialist vet care and having adaptive wheels made for her so that she’ll be able to run around as much as she wants very soon. Coco is crate trained, housebroken and immunized. If you want to know more about Coco you can contact Emily at: LeeEpstein@aol.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Coco, a Hamilton Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu for sale in Hamilton, or seeking a Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Hamilton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hamilton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hamilton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hamilton paves the way for another one to be saved.
