My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ZEUS is a 7 month old black male Lab who weighs 48 pounds. He is bundle of fun who will give you lots of love and happy times. He was given up by his owner to be euthanized by the vet because of a broken femur which required a plate. LRCP rescued him and had the surgery done. He will need to be crated for at least the next 4/5 weeks. He can be taken outside on a leash to do his business but no running, jumping, playing or stair climbing is allowed at this time. He needs strict rest in order for the fracture to heal properly but he will be good as new and all full of typical puppy energy in no time at all. He will be neutered at one of LRCP vets after his leg has been re-evaluated and he is too young for heartworm medication .He knows basic commands and is being crate and house trained and is approved for kids 10+.

Update (9/25): It's been two weeks since we took Zeus into Lab Rescue he is doing great. Took him in today to have the staples in his leg removed this afternoon and our vet thinks the fracture is healing nicely and is in good alignment. She says we can increase his walks to about ¼ miles 2-3 times a day over the next week then up to about ½ mile over the following two weeks. No running jumping twisting no off leash play.

For a young pup he has nice manners and has been super considering that unless he on a leash doing his business and for short walks he is in his crate. Each time he goes out we have to pass the toy basket and he grabs a new toy to carry with him on his walk.

This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. The rescue has between 50 ~ 80 dogs available for adoption.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit www.lab-rescue.org and complete an adoption application. Within a few days of submitting an application you will hear from an Adoption Coordinator who will guide you through the adoption process.

An adoption fee is charged to cover the cost of veterinary care and a house check is required.
