This sweet girl is approx. a 1 yr. old (Oct 2014) shepherd mix sporting Amber colored eyes and a silky red/brown coat. She was a stray that had been left behind to fend for herself. Misty was shy, timid and apprehensive of people when at first. Eventually, she was willing to trust me and I coaxed her to my backyard where she has been in early September.

Misty’s demeanor is gentle and sweet, although she is playful and enjoys running and fetching her toys. In the beginning, she was unsure whether she could trust anyone. During her time here, her personality has blossomed as she's learned to trust, and Misty is now rebuilding her ability to trust those trying to help her.

I suspect Misty has lived most of her life outdoors, but quickly learned 'house rules' regarding bathroom breaks! I believe the collar I put on her was the first she has ever worn. In September she made her first trip to the Vet, where she received a wellness check and a rabies vaccine, but no others because it was discovered she was pregnant!   In early October, Misty delivered 11 precious, beautiful puppies!  (Also available for adoption through DFWRM.)

She has been around multiple other dogs and seems to get along well with them. We have started working on basic commands like sit, drop, off and stay. Misty is a sweet girl and will be a loyal companion for someone special.  She wants to love someone and to be loved in return, appreciated and have a sense of security. She deserves a chance to start a new chapter in life.

Misty's adoption was postponed until her puppies were old enough to be separated from Mom. (SHE'S READY FOR ADOPTION NOW!!)  She's been spayed, and vaccinations are completed, so...

If you feel you’d like to get to know this sweet and gentle young mother, please start at, where you can submit an adoption application for her.  Misty’s foster will get back to you promptly to tell you more, AND to arrange a meeting for you!

'This handsome girl is a participant in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so her ongoing care and custody are provided by her foster, not by DFWRM.'

About Our Rescue Group...

Our goal is to save dogs at the local shelters in the Dallas \ Fort Worth Metroplex from euthanasia and adopt them to the public. We spay / neuter these dogs as well as provide all necessary medical care. We also educate the public about responsible pet ownership. We love dogs and our goal is to reduce / eliminate euthanisias being done in this area by shelters due to overcrowding.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Dogs can be met at our adoptions events, at their foster homes, or the boarding facility where they are staying. They can also be met during the home visit.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption fee for dogs is $250. We required an adoption application and check both vet references and pet deposits / breed restrictions if they apply. We also do a home check prior to all adoptions.
