Kingston (aka King) is a super sweet American Bulldog that was recently saved from a high kill shelter and is ready for a permanent, forever family!
This very special boy is approximately 1 – 2 years old and has a lean muscular building, weighing about 65lbs.

He is definitely a people dog and is eager to learn -— he learns very well and fast. He still has some puppy -like behaviors so will need a family that will give him guidance and further training. He aims to please and just wants to be with people, which will make it easier to work on his training.

He does know some basic commands like “sit”, comes when you call, will wait to be invited inside and listens well – especially when you tell him “no” or “stay there”.

King was recently in a temporary foster home with a 5 year old boy. He was gentle and allowed himself to be handled and led around. Since he is a strong boy and at times can be quite energetic, for his permanent home he should have physically strong owners with previous dog experience, and a bit older children. After all he has been through lately, he would do best being the only dog in the house, since he seems to love people the most and would like your full devotion. He seems a bit too curious about cats, so he needs a home with NO cats.

Regular exercise will be key to keeping King happy - he would enjoy walks, hiking or runs. Since he still needs to be taught about proper doggie manners, he is currently not dog park material. While he often has a lot of energy, he also mellows out to lay about and just “hang out” with his people. He loves “snuggle time” and would like to be up in your lap, if he could fit.

King soaks up all love given to him and gives a lot of love back, listens and learns well. He is a wonderful, wonderful boy with a heart of gold (and he is REALLY, REALLY cute and handsome)! He needs someone who will continue to work on his training. He is an incredibly special dog, a diamond in the rough!!
