Close Call for Benji's Story...
This is the story of a little boy called Benji. He was picked up on the street in Cape Coral and was brought to the Shelter. After only three days, he was not doing so well. I was bringing some donation and asked the lady at the front if I could take a look at the stray and lost dogs. After passing in front of a few cages I came in front of Benji who had a the phrase “May bite” on his intake sheet. I looked at him and instantly knew that he was coming with us at the Rescue. I asked what was going on with him and they told me that he was supposed to be reevaluated but didn’t get a lot of chance to be in adoption since he was too scared. That Monday morning we went with his new foster Mom to pull him out and the rest is history!!!!
A little note from Benji himself!
“Hi, my name is Benji, and I am so glad to get out of that shelter! I was so scared, and no wonder why, it was full of 100 pound barking dogs, and I am only 10 pounds! I was so glad to see that nice lady from Find a Home, Give a Home come and put me in a foster home. My foster Mom says I’m the sweetest thing in the world (which I am!). I love to cuddle and give kisses to anyone who comes to the house, and I will follow you wherever you go because I like to be with people. I am a quiet little guy! I only bark when someone knocks on the door. OK, I bark at thunder too, but I’m not afraid of thunder. I love my bed (but I only play in it, I don’t sleep in it), and I love my toys, and I love my toys in my bed. I sleep all night without making a peep, and I like to sleep late, so I won’t wake you up. I love to ride in the car, too, and although I’m a little shy outside around strangers, I warm up to them if they pet me. I like to go for walks, and I like to visit the other dogs on my walks! Mistakes, I’ve made a few, but then again, too few to mention. I will go to the door when I want to go out, but if no one notices, well, a guys gotta go when a guys gotta go. I’m 95% good on the house training, (which is not my fault). Benji – cuddler, kisser, sweet little guy, My foster Mom says she can’t imagine anyone that wouldn’t want me!”
