RT's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

RT's Story...
RT is a wonderful, faded tri-colored male who has suddenly found himself homeless at 8. This 15 inch beagle has the slender frame of a younger boy. No middle aged fat on this guy!

RT is the poster child in the campaign to make everyone aware of the joys of having an older dog. He lives in an apartment without any problems. He is quiet and well behaved. Though he has been crate trained, RT has full run of his home during the day without getting into anything. His house manners are excellent, except when food has been left out on a counter! There are some things that you just can’t train a beagle to ignore!

RT enjoys the company of another beagle in his foster home. They play together and both love to go on walks. RT is still working on his leash manners. His beagle nose still takes control of the 4 legs when on a scent! RT was very hesitant to get on furniture when he first went to his foster home. He even avoided using the dog beds for the first few days. RT is now comfortable enough to enjoy the comforts of all the beds available for his use. He does love a good cuddle with his person. RT will do well in a home with or without kids or a canine companion. He just needs a place to call his own and someone special to love him forever!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

RT, a Houston Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Houston, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
