My name is Rolo and I am a 6-year-old Dachshund. Although I spent my entire life so far with my family, they just were overwhelmed with the responsibilities of a toddler and new baby. As a result, they felt that they no longer had the time to devote to me. What a bummer! I am good with other dogs and although I am shy at first, I warm up quickly to humans also. Dachshunds are loyal, loving and intelligent and I can prove it if you let me. I really enjoy going for long walks and my favourite pastime is playing with toys – I hope you have a good selection. Since Dachshunds are a very proud hunting breed, it would be best if my new home had a securely fenced yard. I have lived with children and would be okay with children who know how to treat a Dachshund properly. I do take the job of protecting my house and property seriously, and will bark to alert my family. Apartment or condo living would not be for me. I need a home where I am not alone all day, Dachshunds love their humans and do not like to be without them for too long. Love is what I have to offer and that’s all I ask in return.
