Samuel is a five-year-old, Irish Terrier x Poodle, who was given up through no fault of his own. He was part of a family and was loved, but his senior guardian was no longer able to take care of him. Very sad for both but Samuel is a good-natured fellow who is ready to move on. Samuel has the alert nature of the Terrier and true to the breed; he is quick to sound the alarm. For this reason, apartment/condo living would not be for Samuel. Barking can also be a result of pent-up energy and Samuel is very active. It will be important that he gets lots of daily exercise and mental stimulation to expend his energy. He gets along with other dogs but does not always introduce himself properly. Samuel is terrier-like and extroverted – a fun dog who will keep his guardian entertained and busy. This fellow does lack some basic manners – like keeping all fours planted on the ground, walking on leash without pulling like a train, etc. Obedience classes would be recommended as Samuel is an intelligent fellow who wants to please. In addition, trained dogs are happier, healthier, and have a strong bond with their humans. Not only is it beneficial but it could be lots of fun for both Samuel and his guardian. Ideally, Samuel needs an experienced who knows the Terrier personality. He is looking for a home where he is not alone all day or if his guardian is working, he would need a dog walker mid day. Are you searching for a spirited dog who is looking to make a family very happy? Please fill in the adoption form if you would like to adopt Samuel.
