My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there. My name is Jewel.
I'm 1 1/2 years old and I weigh almost almost 60 lbs now... when I came the shelter mid-September I only weighed about 45 lbs. I was very, very thin.
When I was first picked up, I was crawling with fleas. As a result, I was suffering from flea allergies. I had sore, raw, irritated and itchy skin and I was missing a good bit of my hair. Now that I have been treated for fleas and I am on a better diet, my hair has nearly all grown back in and I am looking great if I do say so myself.
I am the sweetest girl with the people I know. Sometimes strangers scare me and I bark at them when I am in my kennel, but I promise I really am a very, very nice girl. Humans don't always understand what a scary and stressful place the shelter is for a dog and so they judge me before they even meet me when I'm outside of my kennel.
I love it when I get to have time in the office away from the noise of the kennel. I'm a great girl inside the office. You would think a that a dog who has spent over 2 months in a kennel would just want to run like crazy, but that's not the case. Don't get me wrong, I need some exercise, but I am just so happy to get love and attention that I don't want to leave your side. I am so content with just spending time with people who care about me.
If the girls are busy and can't love on me, I just find a comfy bed and have a nice long nap.
At first, I was kind of afraid when the other dogs would play, it was almost as if I thought they were fighting, so I would protect myself, but now I know that they're just playing and I am wanting to join in the fun more and more. I get along well with most of the other dogs I meet here at the pound, though I probably would not do well in a home with a dominant dog. Just to be sure that I am going to be a good fit with the new canines in my home, the pound does suggest that I meet any dogs that will be living in my new home before someone decides to add me to their family.
If you're looking for a super sweet bully girl to add to your family, please, please, please consider adopting me!

I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER SEPTEMBER 21, 2014.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.

MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY SPAY SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.

THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
