Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Shiloh is so sweet in temperament, and very playful and filled with joy at the possibility of a new life in Colorado. And who wouldn't be when this brave guy was found wandering the streets of Houston and thrown into a high-kill shelter. He was discarded in this way because he was believed to be blind. Shiloh was so matted that his hair had grown over his eyes making it impossible to see. When Farfel's chose to rescue Shiloh because of his great temperament, we were under the impression that he was blind. After rescue, Shiloh was brought to be temperament tested, neutered and got the grooming of a lifetime! It was after this haircut that we found, to our delight, that Shiloh wasn't blind at all. It was simply that he couldn't see through the matts. His eyes couldn't be clearer and it's as if he's been reborn with the gift of sight!
Shiloh's Boulder foster describes this sweet guy as very playful and fun-loving. He has left the challenges of his experience far behind and looks forward with the most optimistic attitude. Shiloh loves everyone...he would be a great companion for an active family who enjoy the antics of a silly young guy. This 6 - 9 month old Poodle/Westie mix (with perhaps a couple of other adorable breeds in the mix) is so filled with joy and wants to let you know of his happiness. Shiloh is thrilled to engage human friends as well as other dogs in his love of life. He would do great in a home with other friendly and fun dogs who love to play. Shiloh would also be a perfect companion for either active retirees who enjoy a 14 lb Poodle mix to hike, play with and enjoy his cuddly companionship. Or a family with older kids (8+ would be great) who are searching for a take-along guy to spend active as well as quiet time with would be great for Shiloh.
We're all so excited that Shiloh is headed to Colorado..his joy at hiking the trails with all the wonderful mountain smells will know no bounds! He will be a wonderful and loyal companion (once he's given a chance to bond) who will be the best friend a lucky family has ever had.
Shiloh is a non-shedding guy with cotton-soft hair. He will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his coat silky and matt-free.
