Lucy-Prison Graduate's Story...
Lucy has just returned from several months of training at the Grafton Correctional Institute and now is a proud Prison Graduate. She has had extensive training in obedience, basic commands, manners, house training and proper leash walking. Lucy had several adoption applications on her when she returned and no one came to see her. She is now OFF hold and ready to meet her forever family. Stop by soon and check her out.

Everyone at Friendship loves Lucy and you will too! She's a happy go lucky 1.5 year old Golden Retriever mix that arrived from another rescue. She's very playful and has lots of energy combined with a silly personality. Lucy will definitely need an active family to call her own. Kids over 6 years of age are recommended.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy-Prison Graduate, a Elyria Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
