Hickory's Story...
"Are you looking for a very cute and very lovable small dog? I might just be the guy for you! My name is HICKORY, and I'm a two-year-old Dachshund/ terrier mix who loves to snuggle. I won't turn down a good tummy rub, either. I have a shy, docile nature, so I'd do best in a family where the kids are older and considerate. I get along nicely with other dogs, so I'd be happy to have a friendly dog buddy in my new home. I'm still getting used to walking on a leash, and I'm getting better at it every day. It would be great if I could have a little yard in my new home, and I'd probably do well in either a house or an apartment. I'm a fun little fellow, and I think that'll be apparent when you come to visit me here at the El Cajon Animal Shelter. We can spend some time getting better acquainted in the nice play yard that they have here. Just ask one of our kind staff members for help. Please don't delay! I'm so very ready to go to a home where I'll be adored and cherished forever. Love, Hickory" Kennel #58

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hickory, a El Cajon Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
