Riley's Story...
Adopted: Congrats to Ashley and Nick and the girls

Meet Riley, he arrived on the 16th of Sept ,. He doesn't know step up yet, but does like his neck scratched. He had a lot of pin feathers on his neck and appreciated the help to get them to open . He was surrendered to a local shelter when his owners said they couldn't care for him, They said it is a male but they really didn't know for sure , Quakers are in the parakeet category but they are cared for like a small parrot . He is a little cage territorial like many Quakers can be.. His former owners said he was 8,they bought him at a pet store. Quakers can live to be 25-30 years old. His adoption fee is $95 with a cage. We are a small rescue we require a home visit before adoption so potential adopters need to live within 50 miles of Aurora, IL
To get an application to start the process please email his foster mom Debbie at dhbirdlover@gmail

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Riley, a Lombard Parakeet - Quaker was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Parakeet - Quaker for sale in Lombard, or seeking a Parakeet - Quaker from a breeder in Lombard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lombard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lombard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Parakeet - Quaker breeders who help with Parakeet - Quaker rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lombard paves the way for another one to be saved.
