Neo's Story...
I am as smooth as Neo the R&B singer with a short, fit body with a healthy black coat. I've been at the shelter since May 2013. I'm very intelligent & enjoy spending time with people. I was picked up as a stray & people think I was used in the dog fighting world as my teeth have been ground down. Living in the kennel has not been fun for me but volunteers have been working with me. I've made tremendous progress but I still need time to be perfect. I love running with my human friends and rolling around in the grass getting belly rubs. I like the pool on summer days. I know basic commands like sit, stay & can eat right out of your hand - like a little piggy. I'm trying to become more affectionate with people. Ideally I wouldn't be in a home with another dog/cat initially but after some training, it might be possible. I'm often misunderstood but as loyal as they come. PLEASE GIVE ME A CHANCE!!! Anthony

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Neo, a South Orange American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in South Orange, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in South Orange.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in South Orange already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a South Orange breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in South Orange paves the way for another one to be saved.
