My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Frank (also known as Frankie and Boogie) was thrown from a car at a Hayward park and wandered the streets for 3 days. A kind person heard of his plight and took Frank into the safety of her home and then to a vet for neutering and vaccinations. She calls him the "sweetest thing on four legs, a serious cuddle bug," and loves him dearly, but is at work too many hours a week and feels Frank is too sociable a dog to be left alone in a yard all day. He deserves to be part of a family.

Frank is a little over a year old and appears to be a pit bull mixed with possibly pointer or spaniel considering his coloration and the spots on his legs, chest and belly. He weighs 63 lbs and seems in very good health.

Frank is very friendly with strangers, affectionate with both adults and children. He loves to go to Pet Food Express and flirt with the girls at the counter who give him treats. He is also friendly with other dogs and loves playing with them. He is really just a big puppy still. At first, if a dog scared him he whined and tried to jump into his rescuer's arms, like Scooby Doo. We are not sure of Frank's feeling toward cats. He typically ignores the cats he sees on walks, but may bark at them and chase if they run.

Frank rides very nicely in the car and enjoys going places. When first rescued he didn't understand commands or know how to walk on a leash, but he is a fast learner. He nailed "sit" right away and within 2 weeks became a gentlemanly walking companion. Although he has high energy when romping in the park, he is also content to just sit and be with you for family time. His current TV favorite shows are Bonanza and Game of Thrones. Frank loves to be with people and does not like being alone for long periods of time. His rescuer believes this separation anxiety will decrease the more comfortable he gets in a permanent home and the more family he has around him.

It is very impressive how lovable and well behaved Frank is after what he has been through. His rescuer believes he will make an excellent addition to a family that has time to play and cuddle with him.
