Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Romano, a 14 week old puppy who we were told is a German Shepherd/hound mix. Along with his 7 brothers and sisters, he arrived at Adopt A Pet on Labor Day weekend. His siblings have all been adopted, leaving Romano as last, but certainly not least!
He's the biggest of the litter, currently weighing just over 20 pounds. And, we've learned, one of the calmest. His foster home, Wilmette Pet, tells us Romano is one of their all-time favorites. He is friendly not only with the cats who roam the store but also with the resident bunny. He is very smart and quick to learn commands. With his calm, friendly demeanor and laid-back attitude towards other animals, Romano has all the ingredients to make a great family dog.
Since he's still a puppy, Romano needs a family where someone is home part or all day, who will commit to house-training and then obedience training. If you are looking for a mid to large size 4-legged addition to your family, come meet Romano!
You can meet Romano at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, anytime during store hours 7 days a week. (847-251-6750). Although you may want to adopt him on the spot, please know that you will have to go through the application process first.
Romano's adoption fee of $350 includes: vet exam, distemper combo and bordetella vaccinations, deworming, flea and tick preventative, heart worm preventative, microchip and neuter.
