Leah's Story...
Leah: 2 1/2 year old, 40 lbs, housetrained, husky/shepherd
"Leah, a perfect mix of a smart shepherd and a happy-go-lucky husky, is in search of a human of her own willing to take her on long walks and scratch her freckly ears. Her fur is beautiful and soft to the touch, making petting her therapeutic for her and you. This loyal 2 ½ year old girl will fetch balls or run alongside you – your choice! Leah longs to be in the water or outside, so a fenced-in yard and long walks are a must. She lies at your feet and is just happy to have a place to sleep soundly. See this beauty in person and let her give you a kiss! Contact her foster parents for more information: sarah.metallo@gmail.com"

All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. For more information about FOTA or to make a donation, please visit http://www.friendsoftheanimalsbr.org/.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leah, a Baton Rouge Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Husky for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Husky dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Husky breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
