Groot's Story...
Hi, I'm Groot! I'm a typical playful kitten who is looking for my furever home, ideally with my brother Starlord. My foster home says I'm quite the little monkey who likes to swing from the bars at the top of our cage and chat away. We are very bonded and would love to stay together. We cuddle up together when we sleep and play with each other all day long. Please consider making us part of your family!

You can meet Groot at Wilmette Pet, 625 Green Bay Road, anytime during store hours 7 days a week. (847-251-6750 www.wilmettepetcenter.com). Although you may want to adopt him on the spot, please know that you will have to go through the application process first.

Groot's estimated date of birth is 7/12/14 and his adoption fee of $135 includes his vet exam, FVRCP (distemper combo) vaccinations, FIV & Feline Leukemia testing (neg), routine deworming, flea control, microchip and neuter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Groot, a Mt. Prospect Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Mt. Prospect, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Mt. Prospect.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mt. Prospect already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mt. Prospect breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mt. Prospect paves the way for another one to be saved.
