My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rufus is a striking red with white Maine Coon tabby mix kitten born about July 10, 2014.

He came alone to a house in the country and scratched on the door. The homeowner who found him was not able to care for him and he was brought to Fluff Buddies. He was very ill and weak, emaciated and severely congested. He was about 7 weeks old, weighing what a 4-week old would weigh. But he had a will to live, and with the help of a humidifier 24/7, frequent small hand feedings, a warm bed and an antibiotic, he pulled through. After two weeks he had doubled his weight to average for his age.

Rufus is full of energy and loves to play, with people, a kitten his age or with an adult cat (one of his favorite pastimes is stalking and chasing an adult cat's tail). When he is through chasing everything that moves, he is happy to curl up with his people. He is quite social and curious about new things and people.

He gets along well with other cats. He has not had experience with dogs, but would likely do well with a friendly dog. He can also get under foot, so may not do well with someone with balance issues. He eats well and has no litter box issues.

Adoption events are held at the Fair Oaks Petco (Madison at Hazel) on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4pm.
