Shadow - On Hold's Story...
Shadow is a 6 year old, spayed female, Alaskan Malamute X. Shadow was rescued with her brother from a kill shelter in Brooklyn when their time had run out. Shadow is very sweet and affectionate. She is best suited in a home with no cats or other dogs (other than Storm :-) She is great with kids. Shadow must find a home with her brother Storm.

About Shadow and Storm as a pair: Shadow (black/gray) and Storm (white) are 6 year old, sister and brother Alaskan Malamutes. They are very large Mals with Shadow weighing at 95lbs and Storm at 146lbs. Shadow and Storm have been at the shelter since September of 2007, so they desperatley want OUT! Shadow and Storm are friendly and playful dogs. They have been together forever and do not do well when they are separated so they MUST go home together. They would love a family to do fun things with like walks, hiking, and even some sledding! Despite their size they are very well behaved on a leash. Shadow and Storm both have their likes and dislikes; Shadow is great with kids but does not get along with other dogs other than Storm, while Storm needs a home with teens and up but gets along with some other non-dominant dog…neither of them get along with cats. So these two are looking for a forever home without other animals and teens and older. Shadow is housebroken and we would assume because of this, that Storm would be too, but we never guarantee. If you think your home would be perfect for this great bonded pair stop by and visit!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow - On Hold, a Howes Cave Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Alaskan Malamute for sale in Howes Cave, or seeking a Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Howes Cave.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Howes Cave already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Howes Cave breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Howes Cave paves the way for another one to be saved.
